    CONSTRUCTION: Call before you dig!

Call before you digI have heard it told that there are two seasons in Alaska - Winter and Construction season.  Now that we are in the "construction season" let's review.

Working in one's yard can be categorized as construction.  Either landscaping, deck or fence building or a simple addition of a shrub to camouflage the utility box can create chaos or serious injury.  Knowing where your underground utility lines are, before you dig, is a simple process at no charge to you.

The Alaska Dig Line states "don't gamble with your safety!"  By dialing "811" anywhere in Alaska at least two (2) business days before you begin your project will help protect yourself against injuries, service disruptions and more.

                                                Summer hours:  7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

You may also contact The Alaska Dig Line @ www.akonecall.com.  Call today and have a safe, productive construction season!

Really dig your article...helpful to have that number as we are planning to put up a fence during "construction season" I've heard of a neighborhood having to vacate when a gas line has been hit. Good to take caution & not make the neighbors mad at you. Thanks for the info.
